On Saturday, August 30, 2008, Sam was christened at Saint James Episcopal Church in Jackson, MS. We were very fortunate to have several of our family members in attendance, including Sam's new godparents Jennifer Antonio and Mack Heidelberg. Jennifer is Anthony's first cousin, and Mack is a longtime friend. We are so pleased to have them be such a big part of Sam's life, and I think they will each be such wonderful influences.
Sam was actually pretty good; he slept through most of the process, and he only briefly protested when the water was poured on his head. Overall, it was a successful day. (Except for the bulldogs embarrassing loss--we won't talk about that now since my husband is just now beginning to get over the sting.)

We're now sitting around trying to enjoy a Gustav-filled Labor Day. I hope that our friends and family on the coast and in Louisiana come out of this unfortunate situation unscathed. We are thinking of you.
