Summer recap...

Since it's November, I suppose that I should finally post a recap of our summer, right? I'm pretty sure that every year I think that summer's going to be laid-back and relaxed, and every summer I am DEAD WRONG.  We always have a good time, but it's always go, go, go.

Sam swam on the club swim team for the first time.  He practiced with them all summer, which is great because he learns several different strokes and swimming techniques.  We finally convinced him to enter one meet, and for his first time, we thought he did great.  He got off the block clean, and finished first in his heat.  (Given, he only swam against 2 other kids who had also never swum in a meet before, but he didn't know that.) I was just proud he actually went through with it.  Sometimes Sam can be strangely tentative about things.

Lots of ice cream, slushes, and other summer treats were had.

Alex rode on the pony at the 4th of July celebration.

We headed to the beach for a great week with the boys and our neighbors.

Sherm and I celebrated our TEN YEAR anniversary.  Wowza.  I've got to say, we've been incredibly, incredibly, lucky.  We've got each other, our health, our parents/family, and our boys.  We took a weekend trip to NOLA and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.  Probably a little too much. :)

Anthony and Joe took Sam to Atlanta for a weekend at the end of the summer.  They hit 2 Braves' games, the Aquarium, and the College Football Museum.  He had a blast.
