100th Day of School

Sam turned 100.

Like many elementary schools, FPDS celebrates the 100th day of school by having the 1st graders dress up as 100-year-olds.  Getting Sam to dress up is tricky--he still gets a little teased until he knows that other children are also going to be dressing up.  I had to beg him to wear the suspenders, which he promptly took off after the class picture.  The glasses didn't last long either.

We thought he ended up being a pretty cute old man, though.

Mixed bag...

There's really no subject matter to this post...I just wanted to get my pictures up and out there.  I live in fear of my computer crashing and all of my photos disappearing forever.  Oh, the dangers of the technological age.

I'm typing this as I sit in bed snuggling with Alex.  It's currently spring break, and Sam is at a baseball camp this week. (We signed him up partly for my self-preservation and partly to insure he wouldn't playing video games all day long.)  Anyway, Alex is still my snuggle partner--he specifically asks to, and when he does, I can't say "no."

Moving on....

In September we finally finished up Alex's newborn photo session.  Ha!  My child was almost 3 when this picture was taken.  We took the pictures at our church, and I'm so pleased with them.  For the first time, we had the family shot turned into a large canvas, and I am soooo glad we did.  I love it.  I won't talk about how stressful the actual photo session was. Let's just say that Sam was not being cooperative.

Alex has dropped his nap.  Sort of.  It has made life easier in some ways--I'm not pushing it to pick Sam up from school so that Alex can get his nap in, but every few days it catches up with him.  If he naps these days, it's in the school parking lot.

Sam has turned into quite the reader, which makes this mama super happy.

We've had 3 "snow days" this year.  More like freezing rain days.  Sam's excitement when he heard that he didn't have school those days was pretty funny.  So we've had even more opportunities to snuggle.  The warmth  and coziness of the fireplace got to Alex one day, and he crashed while sitting beside me on the couch.  This NEVER happens.

Ignore me.  I stayed in pajamas and didn't put on any make-up that day.  But how funny is his hair?

Speaking of hair, this is how he wakes up most mornings.  I don't know what the child does while he sleeps, but whatever it is, it's impressive.
